Ralph and Des met while working together at Smith Park in Pico Rivera, CA. Ralph was the pool manager and Des was one of the cashiers. Des was afraid of Ralph because he was the scary boss...but she caught his attention from the very beginning. Over the years, they kept in communication and their friendship blossomed. God had different plans for the two, but ultimately reunited them years later when He felt the time was right and now here we are.

WHEN YOU KNEW
DES
From the time I met Ralph, I knew he was someone special. I can’t say exactly what it was, but there was just something about him. When we initially met, our paths were not yet meant to cross in a romantic way (or at least I didn't realize it back then). God was preparing him for me. Years later our paths would cross again at the perfect time; God brought Ralph back into my life when I needed him most. A couple weeks after we started dating, Ralph was preparing to take a trip he previously planned. We had one last dinner together before he left; and after dinner, he told me he loved me. Although I didn't say it then, I knew I loved him too. We talked every day he was gone and when he came back from his trip, I told him I loved him too! Ever since then we have been inseparable; and now we are getting ready to spend the rest of our lives together!
RALPH
Des caught my eye since day one. There was something special about her and I always wanted to get to know her better, and until this day that feeling remains. She put out this great energy and I knew I wanted her in my life. Over the years, she would constantly pop into my head. It was great to get birthday messages from her, and the random text with an off-the-wall question. A few years ago God brought Des back into my life and it was perfect timing. I knew then I had to tell her exactly how I felt about her and when I tried to explain it came out naturally...“I love you”. I had been in love with her for years, and I'm glad I finally told her.
THE PROPSAL
As their relationship evolved, getting engaged was the next step. Des shared that there were a few things that were important to her. She wanted the proposal to be low-key, have family present and that it be a SURPRISE! Ralph disguised the proposal by telling Des that his friends Ray & Ema were practicing photography and wanted to take pictures of their home in Pico Rivera. Then Ralph convinced Des to be in pictures (which she hates being in front of the camera!). Little did Des know that their families were hiding and witnessed what she describes as "...our beautiful proposal in our very own backyard!"

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Oh man, where do we begin? Ralph is constantly teasing Des that she lives her life like a WOD (workout of the day). Des is constantly on the go and Ralph is right there with her! They get an early start on most days waking up at 4am...4:15am...4:30am...ok Des gets up when Ralph texts that he's on his way to pick her up, but they always make it on time for their 5am workout. As you all know, Ralph and Des aren't exactly the fitness-models one would think considering they get up so early most days to work out...and no they are not at the 24-hour donut shop behind the gym...that’s because Ralph loves cooking and Des loves to eat! Talk about a match made in heaven! ☺️ In addition to both loving food, they also love their fur baby Slugger! He is such a spoiled kid it’s kinda ridiculous at times. Hopefully, they get this parenting thing down before they have human babies; they can’t wait to settle in to their new house in and make it a home!
